• AltaVista's Audio Search Tips

• This is a good search tool to use when you don't want to download a program
  (like Xolox, Kazaa, iMesh, etc.)
  to find songs and/or sounds.
  From personal experience, here's a few tips for getting the best results:

• You'll have the best luck finding well-known songs by well-known artists,
  but sometimes you can find uncommon songs - just try it.

• To accurately get the song you want, search by the Artist's:Name,
  rather than the song:name. 
  (Search for 'Madonna,' rather than 'American Pie.')
  IE > madonna:americanpie
  If you don't know the artist's name, do a "backwards:search"
  via song lyrics' search sites,
  like letssingit.com, where you can search by song name or lyrics to give you the artist's name and walla

• Refdesk lists a lot (maybe too much at times), so for quick reference, try iTools.com

• A good dictionary not listed on Refdesk is Allwords - gives the definition, audio clip of pronunciation, and translates the word into Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish!
  And also Rhymezone - for a words' rhymes, synonyms, definitions, and more.  Also, Shakespeare, quotations...

• Verify E-Mail Address by searchbug.com:

• Personally tested, their e-mail verification tool seems to give accurate results.

• Why would you ever need this? 

• Perhaps you're on a public terminal, and you don't have time to wait to see if your message will bounce back (after spending 1/2 hour writing the message!)

• Or maybe to double-check that an e-mail address is invalid before deleting it from your address book.

• And, hey, if you find out that an e-mail address is valid, but your friend isn't writing you back, send them an e-card with a read-receipt option, via sites like cardblast or all-yours.net (this site also allows you to use your own picture or music).  The e-card site will send you a confirmation when the card has been picked up - that way you'll know whether or not your friend is even checking their e-mail!
